Travel guidance for planned TfL tube strikes between 8–11 September

Transport for London has announced a tube strike from Monday 8 to Thursday 11 September. During this time, if strikes go ahead, TfL expects disruption across the Tube with limited services running.

We would advise any MPs and staff travelling for work while the strikes are taking place to consider whether the travel is essential and whether alternatives are available, including other methods of public transport, or to use remote options where possible.

Travel by taxi may be reimbursed where it is the only reasonable means of travel for a particular journey. If this is the case, please add a clear explanation when you submit a claim.

If MPs require a hotel overnight this should be within IPSA's nightly rate of £230. If this is not possible, please attach appropriate evidence including screenshots of the rates available when submitting claims.
